Our Alganak river side lodge in the South West tip of Katmai National Park Bear Viewing Season Starts June 15, 2010 but you can book coastal bear viewing safari style camps with a private guide as early as June 1, 2010. Please check our coastal custom trips page for more info.

Regarding Grizzly Bear Viewing, I would like to plan a trip for the first week of June 2010 at your bear viewing lodge on the Alagnak River in Katmai Park Alaska can you tell me what the best week in June would be to see large male brown bears?
Thanks,
Jack

P.S. you have a real nice website here

Our lodge is in prime Brown Bear Habitat in Katmai National Park so bear viewing here is good all season long it just depends on what facet of the bears life you want to see early June will have bears still dawning there winter coast even though they are pretty shabby and looking to throw them - also early June is a good time to see bears in mating. If you come a bit latter in June the Salmon will start kicking up and fishing will be in the begining statges. So its not if we have good bear viewing at that time we have great bear viewing all season it just depends on what you want to see. Hope to see you soon.

Having recently booked for a week long trip to Katmai with these guys,I have to admit that July cannot come
quickly enough!
The enthusiasim which comes across in Phils emails about Katmai really has my imagination racing.
I can`t stop thinking about the wildlife and sights I will have the opportunity to photograph during my visit, and at the moment I can`t
get enough of looking at pictures and reading about peoples previous trips.

Cant Wait!

I am going in June and I know what your saying about Phil he really can paint a picture in my mind about what I am in store for. I can't wait either he loves wildlife and brown bears especially. His philosphy in guiding and respect for the land is what sold me on going to this lodge. It would have been nice to meet you Ross but we won't be there at the same time. I thought of going to brooks falls bear viewing but hate the fact of the viewing platform. Then I thought of going to the coast and I just don't want to get pictures of bears eating clams all day. This should be a great trip and there wilderness lodge looks awsome. Happy Brown Bear Viewing at Alaska Adventures......
